Broadway: Heart of Newport

Parking

Parking on Broadway can be difficult during weekdays 9 am - 5 pm and the busy seasons (Summer and Fall). The parking is regulated by City of Newport Police Traffic division. Visit Newport Police Traffic division to learn about local traffic law and ordinances.

Follow this map link for convenient access to downtown and regulated areas.

Park Without Fees

(hey everybody likes free, right?)
Various locations exist without fees. Broadway and Spring Street have many free spaces with hourly limitations posted. Many of these free areas in our business district are a great deal! One more good reason to come to Broadway.

The city meters are not in effect November through April city wide.

No parking restrictions are available on Dr. Marcus Wheatland Blvd. Also, the public lot for City Hall employees is available after 6pm weekdays and weekends and holidays for free all year long.

Metered Parking Spaces

City meters are operational May 1 through October 31st from 9am and 9pm in most areas. Pay and Display parking is available at Touro Lot and at Washington Square. These units act the same as regular meters, but also take credit cards, and require that a receipt be visible inside the windshield.
